Cuttack, “Ama Odisha Khabar” on credible information regarding collection of illegal cash from participating bidders for supply of medical instruments to hepatology department, today i.e on 29.01.2026, a short while ago, Dr. Sanatana Behera, Associate Professor, Department of Hepatology, SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack was intercepted by a team of Odisha Vigilance at. Kathagolasahi-Medical Road, Cuttack while he was proceeding to his residential Govt. quarter with unaccounted cash by his Hero Honda Activa Scooter bearing Regn No. OD-05-BS- 7309. During interception, suspected ill-gotten cash Rs. 2,63,000/- was found from the possession of Dr Behera. As he could not account for satisfactorily, the cash from his possession was seized.
Following the interception, searches are being carried out at 3 locations linked to Dr. Behera from DA angle.
He is being examined to ascertain the source of funds.
In this connection, Cuttack Vigilance PS Case No 4/2026 under Prevention of Corruption Act, 2018 has been registered against Dr. Sanatana Behera.
