HEALTH STAFFER ( MALE HEALTH WORKER) OF MUNIGUDA CHC, DIST- RAYAGADA NABBED BY ODISHA VIGILANCE WHILE TAKING BRIBE FOR ISSUANCE OF BIRTH CERTIFICATE*.

Rayagada Dist (ଆମ ଓଡିଶା ଖବର )Today i.e on 13.08.2025, a short while ago, Sri Kunja Bihari Rout, Male Health Worker (MHW) cum Clerk of Muniguda CHC, Dist. Rayagada has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and taking 2nd and final instalment of bribe Rs 3,000/- of overall demand of bribe of Rs 6,000/- from a poor farmer (Complainant) in his office room for issuance of birth certificate of his son. Accused Sri Rout had received Rs.3000/- from complt a few days back, but insisted for the rest bribe amount of Rs.3000/- for furnishing the same. Finding no other means, the poor complainant approached the Vigilance authorities alleging harassment by Sri Rout. Following this, a Vigilance team nabbed Sri Rout today while taking rest bribe amount of Rs.3000/- from the complt.The entire tainted bribe money has been recovered from the possession of accused Sri Rout and seized.

Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Sri Rout from DA angle.

In this connection, Koraput Vigilance PS Case No 27/2025, U/s 7PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered against accused Sri Rout, MHW. Investigation is in progress. Detailed report follows.
